Aminul Islam selected as Global Cancer Ambassador for Bangladesh
 
DHAKA, June 1 (BSS) - Aminul Islam Sujon has been selected as "Global Cancer Ambassador for Bangladesh" by the American Cancer Society (ACS).

Aminul Islam, now working as project coordinator of Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB Trust), got selected for his contribution to anti-tobacco movement and raising mass awareness against cancer, a press release said today.

He has been working in public health development, tobacco control and awareness building on environmental issues for the last 12 years.

Aminul Islam was a journalist by profession from 1997 to 2009 and held the position of General Secretary of Cultural Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (CJFB) in 2006, Executive Editor of Monthly Anandadin.

He also worked as Staff Reporter in the Daily Janakantha and the Bangladesh Betar. He edited more than 15 books on tobacco, environment and public health issues.
