Analysis of a survey of nearly 500 shopkeepers and customers, and a focus group, on attitudes towards the government ban on polythene bags.

WBB has conducted a survey among shopkeepers and customers at major markets throughout Dhaka, as well as a focus group, to understand people's perspectives on the polythene bag ban, and to determine messages for mass media campaigns.

Polythene Bag Ban: What is the situation after one year? (Bengali only)

WBB conducted a survey throughout Bangladesh in winter 2003 to learn about the situation regarding polythene bags one year following the ban on their use. The survey includes shopkeepers and customers, as well as observation at markets. The research report was released in June 2003.

This case study presents experiences in Bangladesh of successfully advocating for regulations to reduce noise pollution and ban polythene bags.
