In 2004, WBB, in
collaboration with the University of Asia-Pacific, measured noise levels in
different parts of Dhaka city using a mobile noise monitor. The findings
will serve as a baseline for future monitoring of changes in noise levels
throughout the city. The results show that in many areas, noise levels far exceed the
limits set by the government.
