Ban on Toxic Herbal Tobacco: A Constitutional Duty

As tobacco consumption causes tobacco related deaths and diseases to public health, reducing toxic herbals is a constitutional duty of government. Tobacco control law should be enacted as soon as possible. Speakers at a roundtable on “Tobacco Control Law Amendment: Constitutional Duty” made the claim at 11.00 AM. The program was chaired by Adv. Syed Mahbubul Alam, Director (Program & Planning), WBB Trust and was addressed by Adv. U M Habibunnesa, president of Naripakkha, Journalist Chinmoy Mutsuddi, Environmentalist Mohidul Haque Khan, Associate Professor of National Heart Foundation & Hospital and Organizing Secretary of United Forum Against Tobacco (UFAT), Dr. Sohel Reza Chowdhury, Convenor of Anti-Tobacco Media Alliance (ATMA), journalist Abu Rushed Md. Ruhul Amin, and Representative of Bangladesh Anti-Tobacco Alliance (BATA) and Secretary General of Protyasha Anti-Drugs Club Helal Ahmed.
