Youth should aware about tobacco companies deceptive tactics

To make addicted youth in tobacco, tobacco companies are are doing various kinds of misleading campaigns and offers lucrative opportunities. So youth have to aware about these deceptive activities of companies and protect themselves from their deceptive plots. Though Bangladesh is the first signatory of FCTC, most of the general people have no idea about TI interference. To sensitize youth group about the tricky tactics of tobacco companies, WBB Trust and Tobacco Control Research Cell (TCRC) of Dhaka International University has been jointly organized a seminar on "Role of youth to ensure implementation of FCTC article 5.3" on 28th January 2016 at DIU campus.

In the seminar, Dr. Shahidul Kadir Patoary, DIU trustee board chairman; Abu Naser Khan, chairman, Paribesh Bachao Andolon; Shagufta Sultana, Coordinator, ICAP-2015; Hasan Shahriar Kollol, Surgeon, Shahid Sohrawardy Medical College and Hospital; Syeda Anonna Rahman, Program Manager, WBB Trust; Bajlur Rahman, Associate Professor, DIU gave speech. Aminul Islam Shujon, Executive Editor of Swamaswar, anti tobacco newsletter of the Bangladesh Anti Tobacco Alliance (BATA) was the key note speaker.

More than 200 youth has been participated in the seminar and has been sensitized about FCTC article 5.3.
