Demand to Ensure Drinkable Water for All

Water management in Dhaka city has worsened a lot. There is a severe scarcity of water in household works and for drinking. And with the management problem another problem has been included and that is polluted water. Lack of water has a negative impact on public health and economy.  If it continues then the water management will also go under the clutch of multinational companies. And that will lead to more difficulties in the water management. Initiatives should be taken quickly to solve these problems. On 7th May 2016, Saturday, 11 am, Save the Environment Movement (POBA), Martial Art Foundation, Nagarik Adhikar Shangrokkhon Forum, Pollima Green, Ainer Pathshala, Poribesh Unnayan Society, Green Mind Society, Youth Sun and Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust have jointly organized a human chain on demand of good water management and to save all the water bodies.

Speakers of the program said that, Bangladesh is a country of rivers but we have used the water sources in such a way that has led to loss of the sources. It is affecting the urban dwellers. We should be more careful while using the water sources and should try our best to not worsen the situation.

The human chain was presided by Aslam Khan, joint Secretary, POBA.
