Give preference to children, not private cars - environmentalists call

5-7% of people in Dhaka city own private cars. Due to the terrible traffic, the car's speed has dropped below the average walking speed. There is no place for children to play in this city, there is a shortage of human habitation, and private cars are prioritized in urban transport plan. In the current situation, there is no alternative to controlling the number of private cars and ensuring a safe and convenient environment for walking.

This opinion was expressed at the car free street event Khilgaon on 19 September 2023 at 3.00 pm. The car free street event was organized to create playing and socialization opportunity for children.
