The canal named Titas of Brahmonbaria city has been encroached to build the slab bridge funded by ADB which is a treat to the natural drainage system of the area. At present, Water logging and water scarcity is happening in Dhaka and Chittagong due to encroaching and filling up water bodies, rivers, canals etc. Encroaching Titas canal is a surprising incident as it is against Natural Water Conservation Act 2000. Water scarcity, natural drainage problem and water logging problems will be increased due to this type of activities. Therefore, journalists of several national newspapers visited the place with the cooperation of the WBB Trust.
