Women’s Contribution in House Hold Work: Our Concept

Woman work on household chores, housekeeping, taking care of child, helps study, regular shopping, cleaning cloths including various task. Although there is a common notion in society that general women do nothing. There is another concept with this that only women will do all task in house. To change this notion two documentary were presented on “Ami kichui korina” and Ek shonge kaj kori shukhi poribar gori”

On  14th December 2015 at 11.00 AM Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB) Trust and Shopner shiri Shomaj Kollan Shongstha have jointly arranged a seminar and two documentary exhibition on “Ami kichui Korina” and “Ek shonge Kaj Kori Shukhi Poribar Gori” which has been exhibited at Kamrangirchor, Mohammadpur and Founder and General Secretary, Umme Salma gives inaugural statement. Also addressed Vice president Israt Jahan Lata, 55 No ward counselor Nure Alam Chowdhury, Yeasmin Sultana Mira, Head Master K.C. Kindergarten School, Mst. Shamima Akter, Headmaster, SA International School, Deputy Program Manager Naznin Kabir, Tanzila Chowdhury, Assistant Advocacy Officer, WBB Trust and social Activist.

Umme Salma Said, women are not respected properly who are working in household as the other working in job sectors. Women are a big power of economic development, so we have to recognize them. Naznin Kabir said, generally a man works in their office for 8 hours where a woman works in house for 18 hours but it is not recognized. Women works should value by respect not money. Ward counselor Mr. Nure Alam Chowdhury said, women house hold works recognition is their rights, so we have to give them their rights. There is no family in the world where women contribution is not present. Tanzila Chowdhury said, in this world child is the most valuable to us, looking after child, elderly person  and all other works are also being take care by women. After all these when a child being asked what your mother does? He replies, I am afraid she does nothing. We have to change this notion. Yeasmin Sultana Mira said, we have to find out the problems with women and have to solve those problem immediately. We have to make women friendly educational environment too.
