Role of NGOs to Ensure a Livable Dhaka

Building an inclusive and equitable Dhaka city is possible by creating a pedestrian-friendly environment, ensuring accessible playgrounds and parks for all, implementing the school district concept, and creating community-based socialization opportunities. Non-governmental organizations are an important partner in implementing the Dhaka Detailed Area Plan. They  should support the implementation of DAP through regular advocacy and short-medium-long term activities. Today, March 15, 2023, Wednesday, at 11.00 am, the speakers said this in the workshop titled "Dhaka Metropolitan Detailed Area Plan: Actions to ensure a livable city" organized by WBB Trust at the Koiborto conference room of the same organization.

Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust's senior project manager, Ziaur Rahman moderated the event, and project manager of the organization, Naima Akter presented the keynote paper. Dhaka North City Corporation Chief Town Planner Maqsood Hashem, NASF President Hafizur Rahman Moyna, Assistant Professor of Department of Urban and Regional Planning of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Sadia Afroz, Director of Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust Gaous Pearee spoke at the event.
